" mei ah! i always don't hear you play the piano. i spend thousands of dollars for your piano lessons every year..." or " ah mei ah! entertain me with the songs you've learnt leh! " oh whatever. when i always play for my parents to listen (as well as practicing. duh) they'll be watching tv most of the time. that makes me dislike practicing piano infront of them. the day before my grade 5 piano exam last year, i was damn stressed up and was practicing like mad. what did they do? sit and watch tv! give me some peace leh. grrr. what's over its over. i argued with my mum this evening, over practicing my piano. what? and she still say that they don't watch tv when i practice piano. wth. GRRR.
"shawn can do this. shawn can do that. oh shawn's good in this. oh shawn's good in that." praise and praise and PRAISE my bro infront of my relatives. my dad would complain about my hairstyle infront of my relatives. it's my hairstyle, not his. my hair dosen't irritate me. why does it annoy him so much? he wants me to have a idiotic hairstlye. those non-layered kind? YUCK. anyway, i'm terribly sorry. my hair's layered so much. if he wants me to have those kuku hairstyle, i'd be bald by then. and my dearest mum, who wants me to have this layered hairstyle, still go support dad in some way. ARGHH. it's not that i'm jealous that my parents praise my bro, not me. nono, not that. if they don't praise me, nevermind. cos i know i can't be compared to my smart and intelligent and talented bro. but STOP SPILLING MY BAD POINTS AND SCOLDING ME DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY INFRONT OF OUR RELATIVES. GRRRRRRR. it's damn embarrassing.
there was once my parents were so mad with my bro, they yelled at him like hell, while i was in my room pretending to do my work (cos i was listening to their 'music'). they were blabbering and blabbering. they were scolding my bro " though ah mei is not as smart as you, she's very hardworking and you're damn lazy!" oh, i was smirking. i'm a last-minute-do-thing person. okay fine. that's not the point. my dad said something which to me, was hell. he said " we treat you better than ah mei. whenever we go out to eat, we'll ask you and when you say the particular place, we'll bring you, we don't ask ah mei. you want a bicycle, we bought for you. $680. we don't buy everything ah mei wants. we bought for you a $700+ TagHeur watch. ah mei dosen't even have. sometimes when the simple words we converse, ah mei dosen't even understand, that's why i'm angry with her. you're smarter than her." initially, i didn't feel this way. but when my dad said those words, it left me thinking. only then did i realise, he treats me quite differently from my bro. ):
